The investment seeks to achieve long-term capital appreciation plus income.
The fund employs a "long/short" investment strategy to attempt to achieve capital appreciation and manage risk by purchasing stocks believed to be undervalued and selling short stocks believed to be overvalued. It invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities. The fund may also invest up to 20% of its net assets in fixed income securities, including sovereign debt, corporate bonds, exchange-traded notes ("ETNs") and debt issued by the U.S. government and its agencies. It is non-diversified.
